How to elevate your room (from a lazy girl who gets it).

I am a girl who desperately wants to have a Pinterest-perfect room but can't, because I'm lazy.
So, I am going to pass my knowledge on to you, who is not lazy, so you can ELEVATE YOUR ROOM.

1. Clean!

Step 1, the base of all: clean and declutter!
If your room is already clean—no, it isn’t. Go clean it now.
If you’ve got a bunch of stuff you don’t want, make three boxes: keep, sell, donate. Think it through!

2. Make a mood board

What do you want your room to be? You can make a board like it on Pinterest for inspiration.
Make it realistic; high expectations will crush you.

3. Divide it into chunks

Got small sections in your room? Like a study table, bed, or art area?
Go to the one you hate the most. Rearrange it a bit. Add some flair.
Then move to the next one when you’re happy with it. Makes the task way more doable.

4. Thrift

Thrifting is love. Thrifting is life.
If you don’t thrift home decor? I feel bad for you. You can’t complain about being poor—thrifting is so cheap!
But you do need time. Look through everything—you never know when you’ll hit the jackpot.

I personally found 3 really aesthetic home decor pieces that I have to share:

  • A clay statue of a super detailed heart

  • A heart ornament

  • A vintage white ornament
...but I broke them. Shame on me.

5. Posters

Go make or buy posters that match your vibe! Simple but powerful.

6. Nature

Plants are your best friends.
Can’t be trusted with real ones? Same. Get fake ones.
I bought 1 vine for a dollar, hung it on my bedframe, and now it feels so much more magical.

7. Fairy lights

Do I even need to say anything? Honestly, try not to use big white lights; use the yellow lights, fairy lights, candles, or LED lights. But if big lights are what you vibe with, go for it, they don't really cost too much and are cool.

8. important

Your room doesn't need to impress anyone, it doesn't need to be Pinterest worthy, it doesn't need to be following all the temporary trends, it needs to be YOU, it needs to contain your personality, your history, not some other girl's
on social media.

I hope this helps!

Why do children hate school?

School is supposed to be a place of learning, critical thinking, and joy, where young minds can enhance their abilities to read and write and develop a sense of independence—preparing them for the real world. But nowadays, if you go and ask any regular child, “Hey, do you like school?” I can assure you, the majority of children will say no without hesitation. Here is the question lingering in all our minds: why do children hate school? It’s actually much deeper than just laziness or unwillingness to study. Natural Curiosity Children are born curious; it’s a survival instinct. They can spend hours figuring out why ants move in lines or why the sky is blue. The system is supposed to support that and use these questions as an advantage to help them learn, but instead, it tends to squash their free-spirited questions into little boxes. By the time those boxes are opened, it’s far too late—they’ve lost their will and curiosity, falling into the molds the system wanted them to fall ...

Mayor me; (gone wrong)

I slept contentedly, living my normal life in a normal suburban home with a delightfully normal family. Then the pleasant night suddenly turned into hours of trying to sleep—the pure definition of uncomfortable. Indeed, the night was hot and sweaty—after all, it was the middle of June, and I was stuck in the middle of a loadshedding session our “lovely” town management decided to bestow upon us. Annoying, right? As I tossed and turned, all disgustingly sweaty and barely able to sleep at 3 o’clock in the morning, I thought to myself, What if I were the Mayor? I wouldn’t torture my people like this! I would provide them with the most lovely town ever—pure bliss! After hours of trying, my body couldn’t keep up anymore, and finally… I slept! I was knocked out for a few good hours until I was woken by a loud ringing at the door. I woke up in a bigger room than the one I had before. I thought I was kidnapped and almost started screaming—looking around half asleep, worried I had gone insane,...
